Michael (Sabetai) Matsas, a Greek Jewish Marxist intellectual, and Secretary General of the Workers’ Revolutionary Party (EEK) of Greece, will go on trial for slander on 3 September 2013.
This court action by the neo-Nazi grouping “Golden Dawn” is to be rejected irrespective of one’s political perspective or that of Michael (Sabetai) Matsas. Accordingly, it is necessary to state that it is deplorable that the Central Council of the Jewish Communities of Greece (KISE) has not assumed its responsibility of opposing the Antisemitic slanders that have been launched against this Jewish political spokesperson.
